I'm going to be in Nice in September, and would like to charter something like this for a day - a Sunseeker 15m yacht. Budget is about £1500.

Can anyone recommend anyone to speak to about this? I've found a couple of places on the net, but would be grateful for recommendations from anyone who has 1st hand experience.

I have replied to it in other section, but now I see you want it for a day.
We deal with 1 week minimum, or 3 days in certain circumstances when some owners are agree to do that, as it's really not up to us. 99% of them find it of too much hassle to rent out just for a day.

I'm sure you can find who specialises in that sort of short charters. smile

Thanks for the replies. I've managed to find somewhere that will do a 1 day charter, although these boats aren't cheap are they!!

Hi there, my father has a sunseeker portofino 53. He rents this is St Jean which isn't too far from Nice. Its a virtually new boat. PM me for more details.

ehasler, what restrictions have they put on regards milage/fuel? There not cheap at all - best to view tham as £500k and the costs therefater should resemble the purchase price. If that makes sense. Good choice by the way.

Hi Adam,

There are no restrictions on fuel or milage as far as I can see, but we have had to pay 650 Euros up front to cover expenses including fuel, and we have the option of topping this up on the day if required. Apparently it will do 335 miles on a tank (1000 litres), so assuming a fuel price of 1.50 Euros/l, we'll get about 140 miles for our 650 Euros!!

The cost of these things is certainly an eye opener!!

Most rentals come with a skipper. Certainly when we charter ours, we have our skipper on it, to look after the boat, and to generally make your day on it a bit more special.

650 euro for APA? biggrin
you might be happy to know you got a good deal as some of my clients have to pay on average 50K euro APA for a week charter, some 100K euro..
