TVR owner confused by new gadget!! Help

Just bought an Oracom MP3 player from Amazon. I want to listen to my CD collection on it but it doesn't seem to come with any software that will convert CD Audio files into MP3 format.
Are there any internet sites where you can download such software??

Download Musicmatch from www.musicmatch.com/ and you can 'rip' CDs to MP3s to your hearts content. It can also record MP3s to an audio CD, i.e. if you have ripped some MP3s and want to make a compilation to play on your regular CD player it can convert the MP£s back to the CD Audio files. Top Stuff!

It can also interface directly with most MP3 players to download tracks to your player without having to start another application to simply transfer files.

Hello,

yes, you need to convert .cda or .wav's to mp3. This is known as ripping a track or CD. There are many such software bundles which will take care of this for you.

MusicMatch Jukebox, Nero, EasyCD-DA Extractor - the list is endless.

Just go to one of the popular download sites and look under the MP3 section.

get your mp3 downloads from kazaalite (not the normal kazaa) it's firkin good...

however much i hate microsoft, windows media player 9 is pretty good and free. you have the option to convert audio cd's to mp3 at different bitrate's (192k/bs is pretty good all rounder)

my MP3 player only has 128MB memory, I find 192kbs creates too big a file (5-6MB) whereas 128kbs (or even 96 if I'm only using it on my bike) allows me to put another album or two on the player for no real audible loss of quality.

I even use 64kbps for listening in the cerb. It seems to be good enough quality for the environment and has the added benefit that I can get about 25 normal CDs on one disc.

I spent about 3 months looking at CD rippers and far and away the best one I found was CDex. Find it at;

It's fast, easy to use, reliable, deals with CDDB well (and caches entries locally).
