Hi all,i've had a response to a classified ad for some TVR parts i'm selling, from a potential buyer in Germany. The guy seems genuine enough, but how can he pay me without using Paypal,or me giving him my bank details for an electronic transfer? Can i still take some sort of foreign cheque from him,but made out in £'s sterling?
Cheers,Mike

No harm in giving your bank name , account number & sort code. Non of my suppliers would get paid otherwise smile

Just don't tell him your date of birth, mothers maiden name or your dead cat's name smile

I live in Holland and when I have to pay abroad I usually ask there International Bank Account number (IBAN) . You can check this with your Bank. If your German uses Electronic Banking he can directly pay to your IBAN number. Usually this is without additional transaction costs within the EU.

Exactly - my bank requires both the IBAN and BIC-codes for transfers to the UK; if you have both of those it's as quick and painless for both parties as paying your monthly bills.
