Quick off the mark aren't you Ted ? The site only went up yesterday. Did you find all the articles they've put up already ? Not a vast amount there but if they manage to get it up and running it should be well worth a look !

I did see the articles - a worthy successor to TMS it looks like.

I notice that it will be a subscription service...

ahh... found it. Mr Cracknell is of course behind it as suspected. Best of luck to all involved - 3rd time lucky!

No offence intended to you, Ted, but this is fantastic news! Looks great, though I hope we won't have to pay too much for it.

Plenty of news already, TMS returns to its former self. With a new name, of course. Splendid.

No offence taken, I'd have to go a long way to match Mr Cracknell's GT coverage! Not to say I don't have a few things up my sleeve for this year's racing...

Hi guys - With a particular Hi to Ted! Much respect to the daddy of the Petrolheads!!!

dailysportscar.com is only just up and running but will expand dramatically in the coming weeks

The nearly legendary Malcolm Cracknell is indeed in the editors seat and there will be some more very familiar names involved too.

For those Lotus fans out there, the site has been designed by Chris Ellis (PI racer in the Mike Haines Racing Lotus Esprit GT car)and his guys.

Hope you enjoy it

PS There are loads of sites you stumble across and visit once or twice. This one is a regular stop for me - You do a brilliant Job!

BTW we are now posting material on the Daytona Test Days - news of Panoz and Marcos projects (as well as a Jaguar Trans Am car!) is now up!

GrahamG, subscription service at the new DSC ? What will it be per month ? Not that I aim to be Richie Rich but my budget is tight. I'm saving for a Cerbera, you know.

Present plans are for an annual subscription of £30 (Autosport costs well over £130 over a full year and if you get 200 words of coverage of a British GT race you're lucky!!)

There will be free areas on the site but the Daily News, interviews, features etc will, I'm afraid, be pay to view from Feb 11th.

The reason is simple - If we are going to post race coverage (and photos) as quickly as people would like - not just from the UK but from around Europe and the US - then writers and photographers will need to be paid (to cover their expenses if nothing else!)

Sadly there have been too many sites that have tried to survive just on sponsorship and advertising - for race coverage it just doesn't hack it over the long term.

Before we go subscription there will be a chance to see what you will be asked to pay for first - Our coverage of the Daytona 24 Hours will be free (as will our reports from Autosport International this week)

There should be plenty of British interest at Daytona this year - Ascari, Graham Nash's new saleen (plus a Porsche), Calum Lockie in the Mantara with Cor Euser, Eurotech are taking a 911 for Mike Jordan, David Warnock, Mark Sumpter and Graham Langford, to say nothing of Andy Wallace, James Weaver, Ollie Gavin et al. Could be fun

I've got to say, I used to visit Totalmotorsport a lot. Obviously when things changed and then the news level dropped so did my enthusiasm to visit the site.
Along came Dailysportscar.com, wow! For someone who's in to GT racing it's a "must have" loads of news items, loads of pictures, a lot of insight and rumour.

Brilliant.

Just a quick update - Our Torque Back Forum is now up and running - early visitors have included That Man Shorty, his new partner Mr Pullan, Tommy Erdos, Ian McKellar and Guy Smith.

They're all off to Daytona next week (Simon says he's making the tea for the Rollcentre boys!)

Thanks hansgerd, I can't wait to go to Daytona. I've never been to a 24 hour race before, or America, so it should be good.
