New monthly competition idea.

Been toying with this idea for a little while, thought I'd offer it up to the forum to gauge opinion.

How about a monthly photoshop competition? To be run alongside the current photo comp and run in a similar style, however instead of setting a topic the judge will provide one of their own unadjusted images which everyone has to 'shop in their own way.

If you like the idea I'll start a thread this evening with an image for you all to get on with for March.

PS. It should also give those without a camera phone something to do this month.

If it does take off, could it be stipulated that posters of adjusted images include a resume of what they have done to change the image, in order that we may learn from the experience?

I like the idea. Having had photoshop for a few weeks i'm running out of tutorials to do, so this would be a good way of learning from more experienced people.

Great idea, but I assume when you mean photoshopping you mean manipulation by any image editing package. I know quite a few people still use Paint Shop Pro rather than Photoshop

Absolutely, "photoshopping" as a generic term, could be Ps, PSP, GIMP etc.

Cool. It'll be a great way to learn tricks and tips. When we went to the Isle of Man with the TopGear mag people we got to see just how much it gets used. The front cover was amazing. Sure, you could see some of the edits, but some of the others, and the number of them were very clever.

Nah - I can only do the spot colour thing and put borders on, everything else just looks pants.

Maybe there should be a "who wasted the most time to produce this crap" award so we have a chance

Hmmm, I know what you mean. Might weekly be too little time to get plenty of entries though? Perhaps half monthly instead? That way we could have March 1 ps Comp, March 2, April 1, April 2 ... etc.
