Numpty out of fuel advice
Discussion
School-boy error last night
. Decided to run the Chim on a evening blast but she started spluttering away on turnover, ticked away unheathily for a minute and died.
First thing that sprung to mind was lack of fuel, the needle was hovering around empty after a 250 mile trip so I nipped to the local Total (2 mins away from the flat which is quite handy) to fill up my reserve can. Bingo.
Total luck (no pun intended
) to have ran dry outside my flat from a 250 mile round trip but potentially damaging to the engine. (note to self, fill up on 1/4 tank regardless)
Which brings me to my point I guess, having run the tank dry would I have caused any damage to the engine/pipes/mechanicals by fuelling with the nasty residues left at the bottom of the tank??
The car seemed fine after fully refulling but I can't help thinking I may have caused some internal injuries.

t down the pipes if you let it run too low is an old wives tail. Dont worry, whatever else is wrong with it it is probably not the fuel system.
