Noisy brakes on Golf MkIV
Discussion
Had new discs and pads all round on my MkIV Golf Anniversary just before Christmas, when in reverse (just moving, no brakes applied) particularly down a hill there's quite a bit of noise coming from the rear brakes. The noise is similar to that squealing you occasionally get when you've washed the car and left it stand overnight.
I initially put this off as down to new brakes but its still doing it 2 months later now - any ideas? Was going to drop by my local VW garage this afternoon but they were shut.

Sounds familiar.
I'm having the same issues with my Octavia RS since having new pads fitted around the same time as you. The noise when reversing is bloody awful.
I suspect it's something to do with the OEM pads as my old Ferodo DS2500s were perfect. As soon as the weather picks up i'll be putting some new DS2500s on myself.
