I am doing a bit of research into offshore powerboat racing and wondered if any PHer's out there were involved in any way?

I am not certain which class of racing this guy is involved with but I am trying to find out about a chap who makes manifolds, based in liverpool, a company called bowman engineering?

Really stuck and I know its a long shot so I won't hold my breath.

I don't actually need any information as such, just to find out whether the company exists or not. I have a meeting with the owner on tuesday and know absolutely nothing about him. Nothing shows up on google, not for him or the company.

Thanks in advance for anything that comes up.

Thanks Viper
This is turning out to be a complete scam, he has now vanished without trace, both contact numbers are dead and cannot be traced due to customer confidentiality issues etc... just glad no money exchanged hands.

I just need to say thanks to those of you who answered, I knew someone would have some information somewhere.

The more i find out the more likely it seems this was part of a much bigger con, The information I have has now been handed to the fraud squad and the FBI in the states, hopefully they can do something about the scum bag.

You thinking of Bowman's on the Bittern side of the Itchen River?

Been around for decades making bluewater cruisers and nothing to do with powerboats so would guess that they are nothing to do with this manhunt (just to rule out someone if nothing else)

I'm sure I recall bowman making heat exchangers and other marinisation components - which would include manifolds. Not really yer performance end of things IIRC.

Don't recall hearing them proactively involved in racing, but easily could be wrong.

Cheers for that Matt.
When I spoke to this guy on the phone he said his company made manifolds and exhausts for the powerboats, obviously not quite got his story straight. I will however call the company in the morning and ask if he exists. If not then I should warn them that someone out there might possibly be misrepresenting himself as their MD.

Turns out the FBI have charged a group of boiler room scammers with fraud on a huge scale in the states, not related to the above but good to know some of them are now being prosecuted.
