PS3 or Xbox 360 for GTA IV..?

I haven't been able to afford any of the current generation of consoles for a while, but with GTA IV coming out atr the end of April I'm going to have to get the money from somewhere! I'm having a real problem with which one to go for though... my head says 360, it has the better games at the moment, Xbox live seems pretty sorted, but the potential of the PS3 is huge and there is also Final Fantasy XIII to come. The problem is will that potential ever be realised or will it be the next Dreamcast (but probably without as much charm)? There is also a part of me that wants to punish Sony for getting so many of the PS3 decisions wrong. By the way this will be as well as a Wii - It will be Wii + 1.

What to do?

I dread to think how much MS had to pay Rockstar for the exclusive 360 DLC.....

The rumour was that the DLC will be the missing 5 borough, so a staten island episode is what's I've seen guessed at.

I think it seems logical that the missing borough could be the DLC.

Getting it on the 360 myself but mainly due to having more friends own a 360 and hoping the MP will be good on this!

I don't know anyone with a PS3 and quite a few people with a 360. Shame really the PS3 is an amazing console but, the more time goes by the less likely the chance of it ever really taking off becomes.

glad i dont have to pay to play online on the ps3, also for a gta gAme it has alot more potential graphic wise which should be awsome, like mentioned in a previous post, the frame rate should make it alot better

Funny how nothing has been shown of the PS3 version though yet, every single vid and pic thus far is from the 360 version as the PS3 is a week behind (and also the primary cause of the delay from last year). I wouldn't expect any significant graphical differences and certainly no difference in frame rate between the two.

It was played on the Ps3 over a month ago by various websites CVG being one of them, you can read their account of it in this months PSM3 mag. The general verdict is its identical to the 360 version and silky smooth.

I think the smart thing to do if you own PS3 and 360 is to get it on the 360 purely for the 2 bits of episodic content. PS3 will be getting the rest of the download content though and its also rumoured it may get its own exclusive content too.
