Welcome Ian, good luck with your new car and congratulations on buying a white one, when I was looking for one I really wanted silver or dark blue but I'm glad I bought a white one because they are quite rare.This forum is a mine of info wich I am sure you will find invaluable.

Welcome Ian! Good luck with the car - you'll have a great time in it, they are absolutely superb. There's a handful of us here in the North East, but I never knew there was a white S in the neighbourhood - maybe that explains why it's got such a low mileage...

I didnt know there was a white one in the NE either although I know there are a couple or three that are undergoing long term refurbishment, but from what you say it doesnt sound like one of them...

I Taxed & Insured the S from 1st March & intended to go for it last week end but was put off by the horrible weather so I went on Friday and it Blew Stink and P***ed down most of the way up the road. The car ran fine, didn't leak, breezed up the road comfortably slightly above the legal limit appart,from the road works & the evening rush hour traffic through Glasgow. There are one or two minor electrical gremlins to sort Clock, radio, horn don't work (but I knew that)
I'll need to check the fuses/wiring.
All was going well so I called into Annandale Water Services on the M74 for a coffee etc, I was just parking and a 4x4 backed into me smashing the rear offside light cluster. Blue language!!! One of those where your sitting in the car thinking he's going to back into to me, no he's just adjusting his position in the parking bay opposite. HE'S NOT GOING TO STOP-CRUNCH.
He said "I was looking behind me, I never saw you, that cars so low down"
He agreed it was his fault and that he would pay for a new light, I've checked everywhere around that area & there is no other damage. when I got his Name & Address turns out he lives half a mile away from me so his bill will be hand delivered.
I got light clusters, not smoked ones, on E-Bay both offside & nearside so his bill will be for fitting and testing.+ aggro I didn't need
The remainder of the journey was thankfully uneventfull and the car is tucked up in the garage in the dry. I hope to be running around in it when the monsoon season is over - with the top down

Check very very carefully that there are no hairline cracks as they do develop over time.
