New diff but clutch maledies.
Discussion
Well I've got the car back after having the diff done and a couple of associated bugs in the setup having been sorted.
However, initially I got it back with the clutch juddering terribly because of contamination of the clutch caused by a burst slave cylinder. The garage have done quite a good job of removing the judder but there is still a small amount there - at worst it's kind of annoying, at best not there at all. Will that juddering reduce the life of the clutch and/or will the contaminant slowly destroy any parts in the clutch?
Also noticed something started to rattle on Sunday - much like the exhaust rattling. Then when I depressed the clutch pedal to pull away the rattle ceased. I'm assuming that something in the clutch is rattling - it's not too loud but noticeable. It does often disappear when I release the pedal. Is this just a coincidence?
Finally, I get a little squeal from something when hammering the car in third. Lasts about a second, quickly disappears and only when at max power. Anyone else had this?
Thing is I don't want to go back to the garage and ask them to fix/replace the clutch (I would expect this for free given the clutch was, on removal and inspection, in very good nick before the contamination) when it might not be their doing. Plus they've been very good in the past and have bent over backwards (20 hours free labour) to help after the initial work raised a separate grinding noise issue.

That could be your thrust bearing...mine has made noises since it was three weeks old so I wouldn't worry.Martin.
