My canon powershot S5 seems pretty frugal on batts but clearly, I will need some! So do i buy the high capacity non rechargeable ones every time or do I go for rechargeable and if so, what batts and charger and I seem to be able to pick up 4 AA cells and a decent charger from energiser for £16 or I can spend well over £50 for what seems to be pretty similar!

Advice much appreciated.

Rechargables wont hold their charge anywhere near as long as a standard chemical battery. But they'll hold a lot more power.

IMO if you use the camera regulaly get some 2200-2800mah rechargables.

Cost is usualy down to recharge speeds (and to some extent capacity).
