Was at a timber yard today, picking up some lengths of 2x1. The bloke there asked me "How the hell are you going to fit them in your car?

I'd have thought the real question is how you would fit 12 foot lengths of timber into anything other than a convertible! biggrin

Good job it was dry.

I did the same Andy, only thing is I went in the Smart (forgot I had gone in that) got outside and thought "oh s**t" I ended up braking the wood in half to get it in, good job I didn't need it full length, wouldn't have got it in the TVR like you though, roof doesn't come off as easy. laugh

I was expecting it to be in 8ft lengths, which is about what we need. Still fitted easier than the 6ft garden bench I got in the MX5.

Yep, the chim recently has transported a few trees and shrubs poking out if the roof (earlier this week). Great looks, but horrible going over 30 for the plants...

Oh yes, you can pack lots of stuff in the sides before even starting on the boot space proper. I call them hamster cheeks!

Not quite as good with the roof in of course but heck, it's for fun, not practicality.

The Chim was the only car that was practical enough to hold all my fencing kit in the boot.

Its far more practical than many saloon cars where the bag simply does not fit.

And of course, it is a hell of a lot more fun as well...

Did I ever mention how much wine I got in the boot, after a couple of weeks camping in the Alps?

My record load in a Chim (2 up) was:
2 soft bags with clothes, books etc for a 2 week holiday
2 dive bags with full kit (excl tanks)
1 acoustic guitar in a flight case!
Mind you I couldn't see out the back and I don't think the steering was at its most communicative...
