Simpo in "early morning posting" shocker

Many thanks for the kind words Lee.
As you can guess its mostly done post processing
I use Paint Shop Pro, and most have had a tweak of saturation & contrast.
Nothing too time intensive to do, but I like the effect
You'll have to come out on the next PH East Anglia "Photo Jolly" (usually involving Simpo, myself and a pub lunch somewhere and a few landscapey shots....)

What do people here think of the dp reviews? Although they seem fairly in depth to me it seems overkill and the tech nature of the tests doesnt (in my experience at lest) always give a clear idea of how things perform in the real world, lots of fok seem to take them as gospel though.
I perfect example is the Olympus E1, if you read the review and looked at test shots from their review youd never go near it, however the reality is nothing like that (ISO over 400 aside!) It takes fantastic shots.
It triumphed the D2x high iso ability, but in the real world if you need to use it in low light its not good at all, in fact ive had better low light results at 1600iso from my D1x (consistantly).
It would be nice to see more real world testing like Bjorn Rorslett.
While weere on the subjest of photog sites, I've mourned the loss of the forums on Rob Galbraiths site since he let them go and not been able to find anything nearly as good, any suggestion? The Medium Format forum there was a gold mine of Advertising and fashion pros and their knowledge....

You make some fair points. I think that they don't benefit from hindsight - for example the D2x review you mention was probably a fair reflection at the time, yet so much has moved on. Apart from this I would suggest that they are at least consistent so that it's easy to find your way round the details.Simpo Two said:
Hmm, 'Simpo Beano Mapey & Leeb'. Well if we don't get any shots we can always start an ad agency
I think we'd have to re-name ourselves to:
Flash, Bang, Wallop and Whatta
Then some cockney barrow boy could be selling our work down the market:
"OI - 'OLD IT! It's a Flash, Bang, Wallop, Whatta Picture"'E'd probably make about 'alf a sixpence, too...

top work mate.
