I assume Tivs will get away with the £25 charge since we're classed as PLGs and not PCs , so our V5Cs don't have a CO2 emmision rating on them......Not that I go in London much....only on Sundays (and I know they don't count) in November for London Thunder biggrin

If that is the case, then 2nd hand values should rocket as the City boys buy up TVRs. hehe

I wish Ken Livingstone would get shafted.

What about my 2003 "PLG" non-banded Tuscan? Seems like a loophole to me, albeit a small one!

I think it's ill thought out when it costs £8 for my 99 Impreza type RA and £25 for my Griff.
One uses condiderably more fuel than the other and it's not the way round Ken thinks it is frown

no CO2 data after 2001 is also £25 a day for >3000cc

It's no fun driving in central London and with all the charges (congestion, fuel and parking), it;s cheaper to use the train.

Damn, I was planning to take mine into work this summer a couple of times. But for 25 odd quid it doesn't seem worth it tbh..........

You should be okay as I don't think this comes in to force until 27th October. Will be driving the Tiv to work EVERY day (get in before 7 and leave at 6 to beat the CC biggrin) - hopefully that will annoy Ken hehe

Object of the exercise is to discourage people from using hteir cars during the working day. From the posts above, it appears that Ken's plan is working. Certainly discourages me from driving into the City. We may not like it, but it seems to be having the desired effect

I may be lucky on this one - I spend weekends only in London, so not only no C-charge, but free parking right outside the door! There is still something about hearing that exhaust note bouncing off buildings when the streets are otherwise quiet...

Maybe I shouldn't have sold my S! In fact with the impending bill for repairs on the chim maybe I really shouldn't have sold it!

That is indeed what the summary says but I can't find where this is embodied in the order. The previous draft did not have this effect & would have a loophole for post-2001 TVRs.

The 'modified' order seems to be about the only thing not posted on the tfl site. When it is posted I'll have a careful read...

Make the most of whatever London driving time you have left.

Much details are being concealed until after the mayor's election.

The ultimate intention is only ZERO emissions vehicles in London and the absolute minimum of cars. That's well into the future.

Read the Low emissions zone stuff. Notice how it talks about introducing charging for 'other' vehicles at an unspecified date. Then read all the introduction dates and vehicle types that have been announced. Notice how the only vehicles not mentioned are cars. These are the 'other' vehicles he is alluding to. The intention is to add cars to the LEZ charging in 2012.

The standard for charging will be the lowest Euro emissions standard. Everything above that will be charged with the intention of driving it off the road.

Ken's trying out hydrogen power for the buses. If you can run a bus on hydrogen, you can run a lorry. Eventually if you want to bring goods into London it won't be economically viable unless you invest in hydrogen vehicles.

Ken pays my wages, but I hope to still be here when he's gone. Until then all some of us can do is stall him as best we can.

http://www.smmtco2.co.uk/co2search2.asp states that a 3.6L Tuscan has the same emissions as an S (which I would have thought is a 4.0L) at 405 g/km
A 3.6L Tuscan II is only 362 g/km

Strange.

I expect the figure were produced by the same person who produced the power output figures....
