Thats been for sale on here at least twice before...
Im not sure how much you know about minis, so im assuming you dont know too much...
Anyway, areas to look for rust:
Scuttle,
A panels,
Bottoms of doors,
Under headlights,
Wings (around side repeaters),
Boot floor subfame mounts (under petrol tank on one side),
Subframes,
Sills,
Floor pan,

Pretty much everywhere in summary. Make sure the footwells arent full of water, this could mean any number of things, but in the worst case, holes in the floor (or if you leave it long enough there will be)

Thanks for the advice... it was actually in pretty good order I thought. There were some points where the paint was bubbling up so let my mate know what he could expect to heppen as a result of that and left it with him.
