Flaming mini wiring
Discussion
Well smouldering anyway. Today in the City I have lost indicators, brake lights and heater fan. The fuse just blows.
I also discovered that the colour of the wires up to the fuse box are totaly differant fron the Haynes manual!
Any how, found the fault. The big plug that connects the indicator arm wires to the wiring loom has a very burt wire at the loom side. I can only asume its been a bad connection and has been arcing out. so its seat out, heater out and contorting my 6 foot 2 inch lanky body under the dash to fix it. Oh that will be fun!

Right then the update. Root cause was the exhaust had shifted and touched the reversing light switch under the gearstick. This resulted in the wire that runs from the connector inside the car behind the heater into the loom getting very hot and melting its plastic covering and blowing the fuse.
Wire replaced complete with 5amp inline fuse just in case it happens again and exhaust position adjusted. The heater fan also works again but in theory it should not have been affected as the top fuse is for the heater, rear screen, indicators and reversing lamps. All this took me 4 hours!
