Does anyone know how much protection our chassis has against rust?

Been looking around the net and found these guys -

Have any of you taken steps to protect your chassis? if so, what have you done and how have you done it

thanks

The answer is minimal. i.e. the paint that was put on at the factory.

We took off all the floorpans and derusted and then used waxoyl. We reassembled using stainless steel screws (all 675 of them).

It was interesting to hear that Roush see a lot of chassis basket cases on even relatively new cars, so chassis rust is potentially a real problem.

Having had a few TVR's I would say Noble chassis are not as well rust proofed as those.

The inspection is better done with the floor plates removed.

The side chassis rails seem particularly prone.
