How complicated is it to put a 2L zetec in a G32?

Has anyone got any experience with this conversion?

Hi I still have the cvh in mine but there are people in the ginetta owners club that have done it. I would suggest you try there.

Hi Ben,
I just put a 2 ltr Zetec into my own G32.
Apart from all the usual stuff you need to do to modify the Mondeo engine to Escort specs (swopping water pump, flywheel, oil sump and oil pick up pipe) you need to fit the escort manifold as well as the plastic unit of the Mondeo can't be fitted due to the rear crossmember of the G32 chassis.
Further modifications: modify the engine bracket to fit the Zetec block, adapt the throttle cable to the new throttle body and fabricate an alternator bracket.
Finally you need to have the full engine loom, ecu etc and a bit of time.

Great,

What's it like now you've fitted it?

Was yours a 1.6 or a 1.9 before?

I had a 1.6 cvh with some small tweeks but it wasn't really fast.
The Zetec now is also slightly modified (gas flowed head, Piper PB270 cams, 4-2-1 s/s manifold, modified Rover T16 inlet manifold & injectors, k&n, balanced pistons / conrods and 7.2 kg flywheel) along with a lsd Escort Turbo box.
It really makes a difference and is a lot of fun to drive - lots of power compared to the original engine driving

Should have spotted this earlier but lots going on - the Broomstick has a 1.8 zetec (we got a virtually new one cheap, which is why its not 2L) in lieu of his 1.9 - and he enjoys it a lot!! Much faster and talkier (sp...) but I am a girlie ... Feel free to PM for any info!!
