Yep red for me as well. That's gotta be one of the best looking cars of the last few years. Pity it's a ltd edition.

Don't get me worng, I think it is a stunning car, but I also feel it is a little short sighted. Sure some will find themselves into the hands of the Gliteraty and the associated Kudos is good. As is the positive press for Alfa. But will it make people buy a 149, just because the nose is similar?

Being a fairly short run I'm not too sure how much profit is in each car, but I've been a firm believer in the Tescos 'Stack 'em high and sell 'em cheap' mantra.

I'd rather that they dropped all the carbon and the Fezza V8, made it out of steel & ali, used the 3.2 V6 and called it the GTV. Oh, but keep the RWD. Charge about 30K

How about if they kept the Fezza V8 and some carbon for a proper GTA? Then aimed it a M3 money?

I'd of thought that would get people out of Z4s, Boxsters and TTs. The only thing stopping people would be badge snobbery.

Thoughts?

I suspect that is exactly what Alfa are doing even as we speak. Alfa needed to make this machine. They need to win a few races to prove that there still alive and thinking. I think they need to blow there nineties image out of the water in order to succeed.

Then when they build there cars for the masses it’s got the cool pub chat. “Well my new GTV got the brakes off that C8 thingy and the locking nut for a Ferrari” etc.

They want to show Audi and BMW that they are up to scratch. They tried to play there game with the 166.

Now I think they are going off to play there own game.

In the end it just became too expensive for what it was and significantly more than initially quoted to customers. Ill rephrase that, it because too expensive for what I thought it was, but Im sure to 500 other folks the money for it was fine.

I am though glad I resisted the urge to put my Big Red Book on Ebay, just looking through it still gives me a warm glow, knowing I was *that* close to an 8C. granted I was also *that* close to a divorce if Id have chosen to put the money there and not where my wife expected it to go, but that's a minor point smile

Have you got any idea how dangerous it is to have just the *exact* amount needed for that deposit suddenly being handed to you as a lump sum and knowing you could make 1 phonecall...?

50k premium for the droptop if the prices mentioned by clarkson for the coupe are right.

As it's all show, surely the Alfa 8C is a hairdressers car?

I'm sure Nicky Clark or similar could afford one.
As apparently it doesn't drive very well why would any petrol head want one, I presume the flowery version will be even worse, it's just another skin deep Z8 zzzzzzzzz.

It has been sgged off for road going driving. However many people are missing the point that this car is designed with the track in mind.

PS. I can tell you that alfa are being very picky about who they allow to order one.

There's a load of footballers who have put their name down for the spider version.

Good luck to them I say. hehe

I've never seen the track that wet to be honest.. So that isn't really relevant.

Regardless, as stated, it's simply stunning to look at and it sounds awesome. smile
