Now we've compiled a pretty good owners list on this forum I'd like to see us try to keep it up to date.
As cars change hands etc we may end up with duplicate entries.
I wondered if it was a good idea maybe to introduce another column for part or all of the reg number to try and prevent this - or does anyone have other ideas (including leave it alone).
So mine for example I could put J902 NLC or just J902*** or various other configurations if we do part of it.
Personally I wouldn't care if all of my reg number was on there but guess some might be more sensitive to this, my car is plastered all over these forums anyway with the reg plate showing.

Very good idea, I'm happy for my registration number to shown in full but can understand that some might have problems with that. If we are developing the ownership list how about provision for previous owners to add their details? I for one would love to establish the history of my car, I have found the previous two owners and know name and address of the original owner of the car but those leave a big gap!

It's because you have an "&" in your name

I think the owners list is a great feature. When the registration feature was added I thought to myself how good would it be if we listed our build numbers. But I guess thats going a bit far for most people isn't it?
Do have a motive as my V8Sc was registered in July 94'and I would love to know how near the end of the run it was built. Anyone got any ideas how to find out?

The last eight characters of the chassis number can indicate when it was made.
The eighth character in from the right of the serial number is the manufacturing year letter.
The characters to the left of this define the model and other information.
There's a bit more detail in the bible in the second edition page 20 - go buy one!
I've added this info to the end of the owners list as a reference.
Note the build number refers to ALL CARS TVR MADE THAT YEAR not just S's.

This is an eye opener as I checked mine a couple of years ago and it had been built a year before it was registered.... Its ans S3 with the straight dash and longer doors but rabbit ear mirrors and no driving lights. Still love it though.The last eight characters of the chassis number can indicate when it was made.
