I have never known wind like it was today at Blackpool beach. My hands went so numb in the 5 or so mintues I was stood here, I could barely use the buttons and dials on the camera. They were numb for a few hours afterwards.
I had a tripod (which I had to keep a hand on to stop it blowing over) and took a series of photos for a panorama... trouble is the exposures aren't the same, there's grime on the lens, and the focus isn't perfect either, so it would be a lot of work to assemble it. The conditions were just too much for me, as I'm not experienced enough to get it right first time.
Today mainly gave me a massive amount of respect for the guys who flew helicopters and took boats out there in the middle of the night - in waves big enough to capsize that thing - to get the sailors out. And you thought your day was hard!

I know what thats like
Well done getting the shot tho.
As for the panoramic, meeter for the middle bit, take the aperture & shutter values, and use them in manual mode for all the shots so the exposure stays the same.
Genius.

Cracking photo. What time was it taken? Seems to be deserted.
