Yes, they're fantastic. Mind you, for the really cheap quotes, the TIV needs to be a second car and garaged - also limited mileage obviously helps.
I'm paying less than £250-00!!!

& they both have Cerbies too - cant be bad.

With the 8k miles I do in a year I couldnt get covered by this lot, plus I dont think they offer track day cover.

Having said that, many of the locals use them & they have an excellent reputation.(the insurance company...not the locals)

Knew you were going to say Hagerty!

I'm 24 without much NCB, so insuring anything this side of a moped would usually be an issue. Their quotes for me on either an S3, V8S or 400Se were all around the £190 a yer mark for 5000 miles a year. I double checked about three times to make sure I'd heard the right figure - that's less than half what I pay for my 1100cc daily driver!

I knew you were going to say Hagerty too!! But their policies don't including driving other cars (yes, I know it's third party only when used like this) so it just needs to be remembered as it's most often included in others.

They continue to surprise with their quotes but on the basis of generally you get what you pay for, has anyone had any claims experience under policies sold by them?

Nick.

Yes they do, although it's 10% of the premium + IPT. If you only do 3 or 4 track days a year, they're still excellent value (I'm with them, too...)

My thoughts exactly - insurance is only cheap until you have to claim on it.

They are under written by Allianz, (so are Mannings) so shouldn't be a problem.

I too found Hagerty a year or so ago. Seems to be run by real enthusiasts and was delighted to hear that when I replaced the TVR a few months back, the 911 was OK with them as well... Cannot quite believe the premiums still.

When I took out my policy with Hagerty I went for 5k miles, but was told that if I got up to the 5k, then I could phone up and buy some more miles. I can't remember how much it was, but I think it was about £100 for 1k miles.

How they would take it if you keep phoning up for yet another 1k is another matter.

Then, assuming they let you, you would have to factor them in for comparison to other insurers.

When I was at Rockingham I spoke to the guys on their stand. They said they were fairly relaxed about modifications. The premium wouldn't increase unless I went OTT with the tuning. They loaded me 20% when I renewed this week.

A-Plan have come up trumps for me again this year thumbup

Sunninghill were similar money and are thoroughly nice people to deal with.

Hagerty don't include DOC - shame.

TVR "specialists" A.Manning were consistent by quoting £100s more than everyone else, just like every other year.

When I had my first Tuscan I was with Sunningill and had it covered for 6k miles. It was 2003 and the sun kept shining and I had a new TVR and I kept driving it and by August I had done 5800 miles. I called Aaron at Sunninghill and arranged for the cover to be extended to 10k miles.

The cost? Nothing. Fantastic service. I only moved from them in 2006 because Privilege were ridiculously cheap.

Hagerty wont issue a policy for more than 5k miles. I called them before I insured my Tuscan last week with A plan. 2005 Tuscan 2, 10k miles PA, 2 drivers (both clean) + business use, protected ncb, £429.

A. Mannings policies have track day cover included. It covers you for trackdays organised by:
- Members of the Association of Track Day Organisers
- Fenderation of Auto-moto event organisers
- TVR Car club

My renewal is due next month. I am interested to learn if this an option with the other companies in this thread (or any other companies at all)?

My insurance is coming up for renewal, the cheapest quotes are £300 less then I paid last year.

My quotes cheapest to expensive

Ashbourne
Adrian Flux
Manning
Tesco
Quote Line Direct
A. Plan

Haggerty wouldn't quote rage (because my existing insurance is with Mannings ), and Footman James mileage to limited on mileage restrictions 4500 max.

The difference between top to bottom is £230, with the top 3 with in £35 of each other.

However Manning is the only one that is unlimited mileage, covers recognised track days.... so as a package I think its relatively competitive.

I'm going to see if Mannings offer me a significant saving on a limited mileage policy.
