my photobbok of a reccent holiday trip just arrived. After much debate and several recommendations,I managed to settle for MyPublisher (see previosu thread

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I have to say overall I am quite impressed with the photobbok, I went for the Classic Hardcover version although a bigger version was available.

However the photo quality and paper quality aren't what I had hoped for. I used a Sony T7 5MP compact camera and although the photos were taken in bright clear blue skies, this is not well reflected in the print quality. In terms of quality, the printing seems similar to photo printing you get from an inkjet printer. I am not sure whether this is down to my camera or mypblisher generally.

I was wondering whether other other users thought the same about these photobooks. Anyone had any experience with mypublisher?

I was tempted to go for fotobook.co.uk, but for my next photobook I think I will need to go for better print/paper quality...any suggestions?

cheers

Let the guys at mypublisher know.

I had an issue with a book a while ago, and was given the option of a full refund or a re-print. Went with the reprint and it was great.

Top notch service from them, so get in touch with them & explain why you aren't happy & let them sort it.

I've found them to be disappointing - the thing is you get your hopes up that they will come back looking like some expensive 'coffee table' type book with beaitiful glossy pages oozing quality, but the reality is they don't. Inkjet photos are vastly superior IMO.

If you want good quality I think you have to go with the more expensive professional type of photo book, usually the ones say a wedding photographer might offer.

Asukabook are meant to be superb but you have to put a lot more effort into producing the book up front (using Photoshop and PDFs etc) and then ordering it from the States.

I had some done last year for Xmas presents. Had some done with Photobox too at the same time. Much prefer the quality of the Photobox ones.

I think I'll email them and see what happens.
