Sorry for the bizarre call for help...

However, my 55-200mm lens arrived today (yay!) and ive just been trying to rearrange the bag to make it all fit - but unfortunatley it doesnt seem to fit too well!

As you can see, i have to put the SLR in sideways to have room for the lens - and it bulges the bag slightly. Now it is padded - so i'm sure it wont suffer from bad knocks - but i'll have to take the camera out by either the strap or the lens (which is best by the way?)

Also, is the lens okay like that - the caps are on and its in the padded case.

Any other suggestions on how to arrange things would be welcomed - i have another divider, i dont think it will fit in anyway with the 55-200 on (unfortunatley).

Swap lenses and there might be room for the smaller lens to the right with the camera on its side?

Do you mean if the long lens is on, i can rotate the camera 90 degrees? i can try but i think the long lens will be too high for the bag then... ill give it a shot wink

No, I mean put the camera in on its side. With the lens pointing to the right.

Or even pointing toward the back of the bag with the existing lens on, actually.

huh, where would the other lens go then?

What i have done is what I thought you suggested - it seems to fit better (if just) - which is still on its back but rotated 90Deg with the 55-200 on, with the other lens seemingly easier to fit next to it.

My only concern is as i take it out, while i try and use the strap, i do seem to have to take it by the lens to get it out straight - is this likely to damage it?

In your current arrangement could you not have the camera with current lens on with the back of the camera facing the back of the bag and the camera going in vertically so that the lens points forwards.

That way you simply grab the camera grip as you normally would and pull up out the bag with your hand already in place on the grip on the right hand side. If not grab the strap and pull, these things are normally reasonably robust.
