Canon G9 Telephoto lens?

I know the Canon G9 isn't a proper SLR so was wondering whether the telephoto lens Canon TC-DC58C works well? it claims to have 2x magnifiaction bringing the 6x zoom up to 12x. Does this work all ok? or is there something not right about it?

I work for Canon and although I don't know a great deal about this product I've got a G7 and the teleconverter for that works great - can't imagine there's much difference.

I have a G9 having replaced a broken A60 and the 6x zoom is more than enough for me at the moment, especially with the 12.1Mpx goodness. I'd have thought that doubling it with the small body would cause for more camera shake though (something which is hard to control at maximum zoom anyway)...

Cracking camera though.

That was my sorta concern, but it seems the other guys find it ok.

I love the camera too, I was put off buying it at first as it looks a bit old from the front, but now I just call it retro I have the leather case for it too, its brill I got it as its about the best camera out there to take diving (with the extras of course) without going SLR which is a lot dearer
