1d or 30d?

Well my birthday is comming up and I was thinking that I might treat myself to a new camera body. I already have a 10d and about £400 to spend.

Looking on e-bay I could expect to get either a 1d or a 30d body for my budget. The 30d is much newer but the 1d was the "pro" model. Any thoughts?

The 1D is getting on a bit now. It is much lower resolution than the 30D so unless you need the weather sealed body of the pro model I would get a 30D.

But if you do want the heavy build of a 1D, don't worry too much about only 4 megapixels - I have 20"x30" inch prints from mine and they're perfectly ok, unless you look really close up.
