COD4 Single Player - how short?!

My girlfriend is on nights all week and rather than spend every night in the pub I thought i'd crack COD4. I was on Act 3 when I started playing last night and completed the damn game last night - how bloody short is that?! I reckon i've spent a max of 4-5 hours playing it and it's all finished. Ridiculous.

At least online play is awesome.

Try doing it on a harder level then you big girl. I'm pretty hardcore but it still took me over 20 hours on Veteran.

LOL I did it on Regular. I'm not going to bother doing all the levels again, just with more targets!

There won't be anymore targets, they'll just be more accurate and smarter, I usually find if I'm whipping through something a bit easily then I'll crank up the difficulty level to add a bit of challenge and not finish the game too quickly.

Veteran is the real challenge - I did it on the level below this and then have been going at Veteran whenever spare time appears and the online games aren't in full flow - been at "no fighting in the war room" now for well over a week and a half and I simply can't get to the slowly opening doors - I can get NEAR enough to SEE them, but not close enough to hit the checkpoint to save it where it is

I did it on regular (IIRC), and I found some parts too easy and other bits (i.e. Chernobyl) too hard - well not hard, but took several attempts to work out how to survive. I get fd off if I die several times in a row and turn it off.

I found Veteran even quicker than playing on regular. The only reason it seems longer, is if you die and have to restart from a checkpoint.

It's also quicker on Veteran, as if you stand still, you are dead, I found the approach to it is to move as quick as possible. Barring 'No Fighting In The War Room', I got through the levels a lot quicker than I did in normal mode In fact, it probably took me just a long to do the war room level as it did all the other levels put together

Mile High on veteran is turning me into a gibbering wreck though, lol....

Any game with good online play is never going to give you a decent length single player due to disc size limitations, just look at G.O.W and Halo 3 as 2 prime examples

Youtube has a vid to help, but I ended up working my own method out in the end. Did it eventually, but took a couple and a bit hours of restarting to get there. IMO, the hardest veteran level in the game !!

I found it easiest on the 'No fighting in the war room' to leg it into the offices opposite and charge though them shooting through windows.

Way too short!....But still what an amazing thing!

Almost like taking part or being in a brilliant suspense film! Love that sniper bit "15 years before"...when you're lying in the grass and the tanks and those 'evil looking' baddies are walking past you! LOL

Same here - and it's the one level where upping the difficulty setting doesn't seem to make it any harder.

kust wack it on Veteran and have a go then. makes life a bit more harder..

i have nealry completed it on Veteran. Im in the Missile Solo ATM
