Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know where i could get some replacement suspension lugs from? I particularly need the front upper lugs that are welded to the tubular chassis rails that the upper wishbones connect to.

I have discovered some serious rust around the ones that are directly underneath the exhaust manifolds. I am going to have to cut them off and replace part of the chassis as well.

Just wondered if there was any old stock left over from the factory closure or maybe someone remanufacturers them. Bit of a long shot, i know, but worth an ask. This must be a common problem so there could be someone who has started making them.

Otherwise I'll try making some myself, looks like 10swg mild steel sheet formed and shaped, anybody confirm that?

Thanks

Andy

From that picture (hard to gauge) yours don't look that bad. I'd give them a going over with a rotary wire wheel and some kurust to stabilise them. In the pic that looks mainly cosmetic.

Demon Tweeks sell generic ones. They might not be identical, but they might fit.

The tube that they are welded onto is paper thin, i have poked some holes with a screwdriver, difficult to see but here are a couple more pics

so i need to cut them off anyway before i replace the sections of chassis.

Would be much easier if i can source the correct lugs.

Ah, from that angle they don't look good paperbag

Any decent time served fabricator should be able to make them up easily for you if you get stuck, they're not a particularly difficult profile.
