You lovely lot
Discussion
Yo Leighton.
My honest opinion is that there is too much going on on the page. The clock/countdown/search etc are a distraction rather than adding anything to the site.
I like the layout of the gallery sections of the site - if I were you I'd use that layout on the front page, using the thumbnails to link into each gallery.

it's very good, and most importantly, quick.
.... but, if you want some negative C & C, i'll try and be gentle:
i) don't like the camera logo.
ii) why the need for a clock on the home page when we all have one in the bottom right corner ?
iii) don't like the "Coming Soon" section.
iv) in my opinion, pics always portray better on a darker website background ... try dark grey or even black.
v) the various page titles are a little confusing ie "close ups", "photoshops" and i never like the "miscellaneous" ones.
vi) "I don't take a photograph, I make it" .... i've seen something similar - "We don't take a photograph, we simply borrow it" ... sounds better, i think. (in fact, thinking about it, i may use it if you don't)
vii) don't like the google, user poll or the days 'til NY bits.
viii) i can't see any contact details ... i don't think it looks good if potential customers cannot see where you are ... plus not even a mobile phone number .... gives the impression of a gypsy's van offering new pvc gutters & fascias (twenty minute guarantee).
having said all that leighton, your work is excellent, and you obviously wish to (and will) sell some prints, hence the "for sale" section.
i therefore think that if the site became more professional, neat & tidy and less of a personal blog (still not sure what they are), you would clearly sell more work.
having said that, the work is superb, please don't take offence,

dA couple of other things - try to get the phone size/style consistent across all your headings. "Scenery" for instance is much bigger than "Photoshops". If you get them all the same it will look better. Since these are all some sort of rollover I fear that means you have to go back to square one for each one...
The menu is nice and simple and works well, the online shop section is well executed. Of the "widgets", I'd keep the mailing list one and lose the rest.
It's a nice site though, well done.
edit to echo F308 Man's comments - you have some really nice pictures there, you even manage to make Clevedon look inviting!

if i were you james, i would wait, take on board all of the comments from others, and then make your own decisions.HUGE thanks
you will probably favour the comments of the folk on here, rather than those upon the many dedicated photography websites.

I was putting myself down....im only showing my stuff to other people not tryin to sell prints so i want people to know how i feel about my work.

ah right, fair enough.I was putting myself down....im only showing my stuff to other people not tryin to sell prints so i want people to know how i feel about my work.
i have already got 60 unique visitors

sin as I'm in the "if you don't ask you don't get" mood, would any of you help with some word of mouth to friends or relatives? I'm just about to create some posters to print off and stick in some windows that my friends parents have let me have. any ideas on publicising anyone?
a collection of ................ that i have taken
It's your website. We know you took them.
a collection of............... would be fine.
How one refers to oneself on one's own website is a real problem (NEVER use 'oneself'!)
I eventually plumped for third person. It's a pig and a cop-out, but less crap than others (IMHO)
so 'I took these in Africa' becomes 'Steve Carter whilst on safari in Africa took these'.
Notice the context? It always helps.
Feel free to ignore.
You'll have the same problems with CVs!

Just to add a few points:
I like the fact that it is different to most sites I regularly visit.
It is busy, as already pointed out.
The borders and presentation of the thumbnails doesn't inspire me - just a personal view.
I hate the fact that I found a lower case "i" within a couple of clicks. Grammar, spelling and attention to detail all matter. Especially if you have something to sell.
But what do I know - it's way ahead of my own website, but I appreciate it's not possible to please all the people all the time!

Hmm, but do you? I could easily copy and paste images,By saying that i am reassuring the viewer that i took them. Makes sense to me? It's your website. We know you took them.
