There is a slight issue with my standard 1989 Mini 30.

Having not driven it for a couple of weeks, I decided to take it out yesterday.

As soon as I pressed the clutch pedal, it forced my foot back, and was then rock solid. I checked under the bonnet to see if there was an obvious problem, and sat in the car again. Suddenly it was all OK, I pressed the clutch pedal, selected 1st, and I drove out of the garage round the block a few times, warmed the engine up and then parked it again. All fine.

A few hours later I need to pop to the shops, so chose to take the mini again. The same thing happened, but now the pedal has stayed solid, and there is no drive at all. I.E. The clutch is disengaged with the pedal rock solid at the top of its travel.

Has something come loose that I could tackle from the outside of the bellhousing, or is the clutch/diaphragm assembly fubared?

Same problem I had recently. Try bleeding the system and resetting the throw-out stop - the pivot arm may be pushing out to far and sticking - the pedal then returns and fills up with fluid hence the solid pedal.
