M12 2.5 Fan Switch

Does anyone know the origin of the fan switch found in the o/s/f coolant pipe?

I'm certain they used to be about a tenner from the factory, but just been quoted £30 plus postage and VAT from Kerridges

but in an attampt to be helpful I had the switch moved cos it was pants at the o/s/f to the ingin or was it tyhe ecu so that it came on at least something like the right temp. think it was ecu even though the guage reads from somewhere else
