They gave you that? Jeeze, that must have been some world class pissing and moaning you did. When mine inevitably dies, I will be in touch.
I usually do the moaning thing, but we had a bit of a work thing before I got home, which included a couple of glasses of Champagne, so I was in quite a good mood
I had the woman on the end of the phone in stitches for all the comments I was saying about having to get a life now, what am I going to do, etc, etc....
She offered me a choice of game or accessory, games I do not know as I chose accessory, which was either a joypad, wireless headset or a play and charge kit.
I told her it made me feel a bit better, but it still hurts, she asked if 12 months gold would make it better, I said it would help, but I'm still devastated inside. She apologised whilst laughing, lol.....

Maybe its a COD4 thing? It killed my no.2 last week. Waiting for no.3 at the mo
Not really, my 360 died during playing Cod4 i think it was, and when it was returned it has worked fine, this is going back a few months.
Sounds like MS haven't even bothered to test the unit they sent back to you, unlucky. I'd complain like a bitch about it though.

I knew at the time I was adopting new technology not tested properly and that the early adopters were pretty much the testers, so I'm not that bothered.
I guess it's like owning a British Supercar, if it didn't break down, you would be missing part of the whole ownership experience

As for certain games breaking 360's (COD4 mentioned), this, to me, is a bit of a myth, since the 360 arrived, whenever it breaks, people always blame the game of the moment. I have heard that Forza breaks Xboxes, Halo 3, GRAW 2, etc, etc... Personally, I cannot see how a game could break hardware ?

Games will cause the CPU and graphics chip (especially) to heat up more, making them more vulnerable to failure, notice how the fans go into overdrive when you play a game ?
Mine constantly sounds like a Harrier Jump Jet no matter what I play, lol...Edited by scorp on Thursday 24th January 10:54
In this instance though, I just switched it on and it was dead, didn't even get to boot up, let alone load a game

can only just hear my fans.It has been exactly the same on the 3 xbox 360's i have owned. The DVD drive is very loud though.
It's either that or i assume the machines i have used have just been positioned in cooler spots etc and the fans have never "kicked in" so to speak.
Does your machine still sound really loud when playing demos from the hard drive with no disc insterted at all?
