what 55-200mm lens works with the D40x

I've been looking around ebay trying to get a 55-200mm lens for my D40x - but it seems a lot of the Nikon nikor don't?

Can anyone help with lenses that will work (with autofocus), I dont mind paying a bit extra for a new one, but i have to watch the pennies at the moment, so dont want to spend too much on one.

I bought the one they do in Jessops as part of the deal with my D40X...Sigma.

Shuold have been £150, but they did it for £99. Worth a punt IMO

That's a bit odd because most should.

Only AF-S lenses will autofocus with the D40X

Good price. I recently got a month old one from Ebay for £110, very good lens.

Before that I made the error of buying a Sigma lens from Jessops, but of course the AF didn't work, although it said compatable on the description. Got a refund so Ok in the end.

I just got the 55-200 off Ebay, £107, and it's a cracker, but make sure it's the 55-200 VR as that transforms your pics,(Vibration Reduction).

The one you pulled up on Ebay Fidgits is not the one, look for the VR.

Use it with the D40, no problem.

If you don't like using the bay (like me) check out Amazon. I plan to order the 55-200VR for my D40 from there. Approx £130 new.
