Christ it's low! TomTVRs S6 (I think it's an S6, or S3.....I can't remember!) Anyhow it's an S series. I found the clutch had masses of travel, and the brake virtually none.....I take it a gentle approach is best (the same for the accelerator too at first?) Unfortunately it's a bit poorly at the moment, and he dared only turn the engine on for a few seconds as it's got an oil leak. However, a few seconds was enough. Enough to re-enforce the point that all TVRs, from the early models all the way up to the Speed 12, have a distinctive, unique rumbling, burbling, obnoxiously loud, and bloody brilliant exhaust note with far more character than any other sports car I've been in.

I want one.

Is this the same with all models of TVR's?

I`ve noticed the Sagaris is exactly the same, the brake being totally unlike any other car I`ve driven.

Never noticed anything like that in the chim. Brakes and clutch feel pretty normal to me, although the brakes do stop the Tiv a bit quicker than other cars hehe . The throttle pedal does have a long travel but nothing you cant get used to.

Do you mean Nick, that after all your posts about how amazing TVRs are, how you get upset when people 'bash' TVRs, this is the first time you've ever actually sat in one?! Blimey wink

I know exactly what you mean. I'm very picky with cars - I looked at a couple alternatives cars including V8 wedges and they were nice cars, well built and so on, but just didn't stir me. In contrast I saw my first S a few weeks back and instantly thought "I want one". smile

Cemented my plan to buy one and I'm actively looking for one at the moment. I even joined the TVRCC last week to aid the search as they seem to be in short supply at the moment.

Can't knock him for it, if there were ( a lot) more people like him around maybe TVR would still be with us.

I think it would have taken more than a lot of 19 yr olds at college to save TVR, but I take your point. An enthusiastic 19 year old is a future potential customer.

Mind you, someone with such unwavering and almost evangelical belief in the cars is almost certain to be a disappointed customer if they ever actually own one.

Agreed...I fell in love with them at 11 during a chance encounter with a chim (only for 5 seconds) leaving me dazed but smitten. A decade later im on the brink of purchasing. It's not something you forget if you love your cars smile

Nice cars are socially unacceptable. You should follow the ethics of your preferred party and stop trying to enjoy yourself. Go by bus, you'll feel much better.

No, quite the opposite, I like it when something requires a bit of TLC and work spent on it to get it perfect. I don't know much about cars innards......but then I didn't know much about anything I've fixed before until I opened the damn thing and had a look at it. I'd learn pretty fast, improve stuff, spend money on it, and make it awesome.
