Good news......my wife is expecting a baby, second bit of good news..its mine!!! lol

As much as I try and work it out, a little one and a TVR just dont add up....please advise if you know im wrong!!
..as much as I would like to streach the budget, having three cars and a motorbike seams a tad too much.
if it has to go, I have four months left.. :-(

SO...I would like to take some, more "happy day" memories,
wot im looking for is three things I should do with my car before someone else can enjoy her.

HELP!

A track day at the circuit of your choice with good instruction

In the time you have the high apline passes will still have snow, so go for the Norschleife or low apline passes, black forest or south of france, route Napolean.

Finally Le Mans, although out of timescales I sure you could stretch it. All roads lead to Le Mans in a TVR.

I'm having to do the same and get rid of the TVR. My son is 21 months old now and I tried to make it work. The problem is limited free time, when I get time off do I spend it in the TVR or with my son? You guessed it, my son wins.

The only problem is I can't bring myself to writing the advert for the TVR, so although I made the decision in mid december I have not done anything about it yet.

God, life is cruel, why can't I be a billionaire with loads of free time.

Seems like theres a few of us in this position! My Tuscan is also up for sale as baby due in June & can no longer justify 'fun' car that is hardly used (especially with house move coming up)
I have been thinking about what I can do before he goes to but wrong time of year for spirited driving.
If mine doesn't sell he goes back on 2nd May as that is when final balloon payment would be due so I have a deadline to work to (Unless shares make a comeback by then in which case he'll be staying but don't tell her wink)

Did this last year in September, fantastic trip and loads of fantastic alpine passes and stunning scenary to be had. The Tiv loved the open roads and the hairpin bends cloud9

If you have 3 cars, sell one of the other ones and use the Tiv as your daily driver?

Which Tiv is it? I assuming not a cerb...

I have a chimaera, and my wife has a car....my thinking was that for me to able to keep the TVR I would need to buy a car with more than two seats....unless you guys know any different!!

Simple:
Whenever you go out as a family = wife's car.
Whenever you don't = TVR

I've been justifying this for 10 yrs now (although struggling with 4 kids...) - time to p/ex my Griff for a Cerbie....

Google is your friend - I've had a quick look and once he/she's three months old you can leave it here. Child looked after, you retain the Tiv - job's a good'n.

I`ve bought my Tiv a good few years (hopefully) before I get married, told the girlfriend that the car is my investment and cannot be sold for any reason except extreme financial hardship (and I mean extreme!)

Hoefully when junor arrives she will have her family car, I will have my family car and the Tiv will be there for the odd fun days to work or to wake up the neighbours.

Sorry to hear that you're considering selling the lovely Taimar, Colin.
My policy with car ownership has always been to sell the cars that were ordinary and keep the ones that were great. Thats why I now have too many cars dotted around the place, all awaiting restoration!
The good news is that some 30 years since acquiring my first 'classic' and some 18 years since the birth of my son, I'm now actually managing to enjoy restoring my modest collection, assisted by my enthusiastic son!
The Taimar is a keeper... and your son will love it in 3 or 4 years time. Think of the adventures!

I sold the Chim when wifey got pregnant with our first.... and bought a Cerb..... biggrin

Trouble is I agree with some of the other posts - time got tight, sleep was lacking, and I simply wasn't enjoying it. So I sold that and got a "sensible" car - an E39 M5 (well it was still a 400bhp V8 it just had room for baby seats and prams!). Thing is, after 8 months of that I was bored witless, so I sold the M5, and got a motorway hack and another Chim!

What did I learn? I was truly bitten by the TVR bug, and no uber-saloon was going to come close to the thrills.

Bin the bike.

My dad's initial reaction to my arrival was.... to swap his M-Series for a 350i 2+2.

I suggest you go for the modern(ish) equivilant and buy a cerberra!
