I am an absolute car nut and am about to take the plunge for a road TVR. (I own a fairly well know Tuscan racer setup for GT Endurance).

Which one should it be? Cerbera 4.5, Tuscan S or not, or TC350? My main issues of concern, funnily enough on a TVr are reliability of the expensive parts - engine etc, and performance. I want this car to be FAST.

Thanks

Gerard

Why not one of each - then you'll be assured you have the fastest variant!

As a Tuscan owner using hindsight I'd go for a 4.5 Cerbie!

Mind you that Speed 6 is addictive if a little tempramental!

What ? Just depends on your wishes, budget, needs etc.
If you have less than 30K go for a cerbera 4.5.
Over 30K then you can get a TUSCAN S or even a T350 for a bit more.
Personally I would go for a just over £30K cerbera red rose in black. But I need the seats.
If I didnt need the seats then I might go for a T350 but I am not sure about a car that dinky.

Are the 4.5 LW Cerbs any faster than a Tuscan S?

If you're worried about reliability, I think a speed 6 engined car could be a no no. There are too many horror stories and tales of engine rebuilds galore. Search the threads on here, but I think u may find a 4.5 Cerbie could be a safer bet. Enjoy!!

Cerbera Red Rose Definately.

Just checked your profile. Anything less than a Cerbera 4.5 Red Rose will disappoint. Lovely collection!!!!

If I was going to go back to the TVR fold it would a cerbera 4.5 RR if reliability was important, or a T350 with uprated engine pack if I wasnt.

Good luck with your choice... very hard I know.

As your key requirement is engine reliability, anything with a Speed Six would appear to be out of the window. As a top-down alternative to a Cerbera 4.5, why not get a Tuscan, sell the Speed Six engine to someone who needs a new one (there should be plenty of takers ) and fit it with one of these beauties: www.chevroletls1.com/chevrolet_ls1_6_info.html

Then you'll have a car that looks great, has a proper V8 sound and will last for more than 8 miles!

So a LW Cerbera 4.5 it will be! (Confirms my own feelings) I'll keep the forum informed on its performance as I drive every single car I have owned on the Spa Franco track, and I will be able to compare.

From my personal experience and as a former Cerbie RR owner I have to say after diving our new Tuscan S demonstrator, go for a new Tuscan S with the T400R engine. It's definately the fastest of all. AWESOME

What's wrong with a Tuscan 440R?
