Just heard from Jon and the guys at Ewelme Coachworks that the Chim will be ready on Friday morning.

I have a full documented record of its colour change respray from Cureton Green to Halcyon Atlantis in addition to clear indicators etc etc.

You will see that Jon and the Guys havent cut any corners and the car was stripped right down to the nitty gritty, removing all the green paint.

Once ive picked it up i will post some of the pixs on this thread as im sure that you will find them interesting.

Tony - out of interest, how much does a full colour change respray cost? it's something that i have thought about but presumed it would cost way too much. I'm guessing at least £4k?

For a same colour respray about £1800 plus the dreaded Vat.
For a complete change of colour (mine was a more expensive colour) it comes in around £2500 again plus Vat and obviously any other work that might need doing.

It sounds like im singing the praises of Ewelme Coachworks but you can only really go on your own experiences (as well as other peoples experiences)but they have been superb, always helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
I was also amazed at how much work goes into it, especially for the colour change.Literally everything came off....lights, doors, bonnet, boot, exhausts etc etc and even the chassis body plate. Even the adhesive stickers in the engine bay are being replaced with fresh ones from the factory.

On Friday i will post a series of photos, some of which are quite scary detailing the whole respray right up to the finished article.

Ewelme Coachworks .. Top Guys.

Say a few of their examples, and have taken the wedge to see them.

What can I say .. 110% helpful, with no pressure.

£2500 + VAT suddenly sounds a lot more attractive! I've been quoted £1400 + VAT for a complete front end and bonnet, although that does include making the join perfect where it has had a new nose cone sometime it's life.

For that price did you literally just deliver the car and let them take care of taking all the bits off that need taking off before a full colour change?

Mind you, then there's what colour to have it painted - so many colours, only one car!!

Yes thats correct....just handed it over and its all nearly finished.

There werent many defects on the body through 7years of driving which was good.

When you see the Pics you will be amazed that a car can look so sad....(like a wreck!) and then soooo nice with a lot of hard work and knowledge.

Yes, colour choice was the big issue. I wanted to keep it sort of Green and when i met Jon he showed me a Cerbie in Halcyon Atlantis which was in the workshop and its was a stunning shade of Green...as soon as i moved, it changed to Blue. Its not a full on colour flip like the Chamelion paints but nearly, and its a lot cheaper.
