Usually the only difference between the normal and XL is slightly stiffer sidewalls and a firmer shoulder. For a performance car these are desirable as you get a more positive turn in and a greater level of feedback through the steering wheel.
I also agree the F1-As are probably better than the GSD3.
Anyway, what did you end up with?

I have ordered F1-As from Pneus online (so we'll see how reliable they are!)
The set worked out only £10 more than Toyo T1-Rs so that's pretty good for the better brand. Assuming they actually are better than Toyo in practice. I won't be able to tell as I'm replacing worn S03s so both would be loads better. What swung my decision was the generally good feedback plus the EVO mag test. I drive my Noble every day so the strong wet weather performance was important.
I have now established through a Goodyear helpline that all F1-As are XL. The confusion was caused by tyre sellers, including pneus, listing non XL even though they don't exist.
