Hi,

I posted this in the general TVR to get a bit more air-play but heres my question..

I`ve been looking at purchasing a TVR for a while now and having finally sorted the finances it appears the Sagaris market is fairly quiet at the moment.

Therefore my attentions have shifted to a low-mileage T350 but I can`t help but miss the Sagaris' looks (especially the front)

I`m no expert in these matters so I throw the question open to the floor, what would it require / cost to get a T350 to look like a Sagaris?

Assuming I only wanted the front-end changed - would it be possible to acquire the fiber glass front of a Sagaris and swap it? or is there more structural changes required??

Anyone like to comment on the background mechanics required?

Thanks for any advice (or even just to laugh at such an idea!)

James.

Hi,

Thats a fairly interesting threat but its still not 'enough' of a conversion for me.

I`d love to get the Sagaris front-end onto a T350 (if I can`t get a Sag) but I`ve no idea of the actual work - is it all body work or is there mechanical work (ie. do the front-lights need moved? is air flow OK?)

Well - as far as I know .. no one has done it..

TVR did say that the Sagaris is a wider T350 chassis
but it maybe that the chassis was widened at the front
and rear - so that the wider wheel arches would look right and that the centre and roof were left as standard
- as per the T350.

After owning a T350 and sitting in and test driving some Saggy's the interior seemed the same width to me..

So - if the chassis has been changed then you really have no chance of having some graft a Saggy body onto a T350 but your best bet would be to make a phone call to

Having modifed an original TVR Sagaris shell to sit on a V8 Tuscan Challenge chassis it is nothing that a bit of time and GRP won't fix.

I suspect (though someone will no doubt be along to correct me) that the only differences between the T350/Tamora/Tuscan chassis and that of the Sagaris are the position of the suspension pick up points and the length of the wishbones to give the wider track.

I had a genuine Sagaris front end that would have been perfect for just such a conversion, but I'm afraid I made a bar out of it:

Wow! nice bar smile

I suspect at the moment I may be going down this route of modifying a T350, unless the Sagaris market picks up in the next month to 6 weeks.

One question, where do you even source a Sagaris front shell?

Mine was from a pre production prototype shell that I bought direct from TVR to build my race car. The front end became surplus as I have a one piece removable clamshell instead.

If you contact John Reid at Readman racing (google it) you may be able to source front end panels

Racing Green?

£4,100.00 yikes straight from the mould
+ prep
+ graft
+ paint
+ splitters
+ lights

Say £8000+

You will need a sag front up to the windscreen and the bonnets to match as you obviously cannot join a wider frontend across the wheel arches . You will then have to modify the chassis /suspension to bring the wheels out to the arches. You will end up with a car wider at the front than it is at the back ( Very unusual !) I think you would be far better of just putting a complete sag body shell on , there are a few around , David

You could slice a front end down the centre line, remove an inch or two then graft it back together again if you really wanted to do it. It would be a lot of work for a cosmetic change

Hence why noone has done it..

It's expensive
If you sold it - people may think you are trying to pass it off as a Saggy
T350 is already good looking.

I'd second you calling S&D, they do some excellent conversion work so I guess making alterations to the wings and frontend of a T350 to 'Sagaris-it' would be well within their skills without the need to actually aquire a Sagaris frontend.
