Just seen CooperMan on Telly!
Discussion
Watching daytime telly today and one of those Car Boot sale programmes comes on. Would normally switch over but they mentioned raising funds for restoring an old Mini. Interest piqued it turns out that Grandad and Grandma are raising funds for buying an engine for their grandsons Mini I have heard this story before methinks!
Although when the voiceover woman says that there is a 'tonne of clutter to search through in this house' I would have found that quite insulting!
Hope the project is going well CooperMan

Thanks, James, It seems as thought ehproblem has gone now.
I'm so proud of what he's achieved at 12-years old. He did virtaully all of the work himself apart from the external painting, which I did. Whilst I supervised and helped, he drove the entire project and never once lost his enthusiasm. The engine is 1061 cc with a nice 12G295 head, 10.3 comp ratio and a 510 'S' cam.
In case you think it's a bit naughty putting an Austin-Cooper badge on the bonnet, that one has sentimental connections. It is the original bonnet badge from off of the new 998 Cooper which was my first new car in June 1964. I took it off to put a stick-on number plate on the bonnet and it's been in a drawer in my workshop ever since. We both thought it would be nice to fit it.
Thanks for all the interest and I hoped you enjoyed the TV repeat.
