British Mini Showdown This Weekend! Anyone Going?

Just remembered (after being reminded by my brother) that the British Mini Showdown is on this weekend, at Shakespeare County Raceway (Pistonfest Venue ).

Anyone here going? I'll be there on Sunday definately, be nice to hook up with some PHers for a bit of Mini action

Probably wont be able to make it.

Went in '96 though (Santa Pod) and it was a top class weekend.

RWYB on the Sunday and a GRP space frame vauxhall powered Mini destroyed a few Lax Power Cossies including one that was 500 odd BHP!!

Hopefully there'll be that mini with the mid-mounted RS turbo engine - absolutely insane, low 12s on the 1/4 mile IIRC. Running about 450 bhp with the nitrous on full blast

I won't be there unfortunately (Stag Do!) but if anyone sees the lightweight Min with the 2 Yamaha R1 bike engines in it down there can you make a note of the times.

Mid-mounted, twin throttle, sequential gearshift... 320bhp all through the back wheels on a car that weighs as much as a crisp packet.

Looked utterly fearsome in Miniworld.

Just to bump this up again - I'll be trying to get ome class Z-Cars pics & times, I'll post them up when I get back (after I've developed the film - housemate needs his digi camera this weekend )

If anyone's there on sunday, I'll be the fat git in the black mini with a pistonheads sunstrip.
