Uprated Brakes for 2.0 ts GTV ? ?

Hi my friend has just got a 1996 2.0 GTV and is wondering if anyone knows where he can get some uprated brakes that are not going to break the bank.

Go for some Ferodo DS Performance pads on standard disks. Makes a big improvement. If he wants to go more extreme he could try DS2500 but they can be noisy.
