48, around 30 years no claims bonus, around 1.5 million miles accident-free, mostly at high speeds (100 mph +) - and sometimes I feel older than I'll ever have the priviledge to get.

Good maths Big Rumbly, I missed out the extra year's bike NCB and could have had years of crashing before I found out how to keep out of the way of twits. I thought confessing to McNab that I've read Autocar for 46 years may have put you off track but you are spot on.

Im one of a group of 'old boy racers'. We have a selection of vehicles between us including a Morgan +8. MG TC, Fraser Nash TT replica (very trick engine), 1920s Buick, Westfield S8, Audi TT, Moto Build Special Rover, Rover Tomcat Turbo, 1.8VVC Metro (just sold), 4.6 V8 MGB, assorted Jags, 180bhp Uno Turbo etc, etc. Negotiations underway for 911 Turbo, Mustang 350 fastback and 289 Cobra. Mostly BARC members prone to hang around Thruxton, Gurston, Prescott and Shelsey Walsh.

Although we haven't grown up yet we have developed the ability to indulge our vices and pay reasonable insurance.

Is it just me, or should someone with 38 years NCB actually have a negative insurance premium, and be getting paid by the insurance companies? Or doesn't it work like that?

Granted this is the first time I've ever looked at this site (see Insurance Quotes) but I'm 57. I couldn't get trackday insurance on one of my cars. Apparently I'm too old.

Whaddyamean 'Ehh' jaydee? I'm being entirely open about about a difficult personal question - exposing my thought processes - complete honesty in the face of adversity - transparency, they call it nowadays - be thankful that there is no sleaze in these pages.

After all if JSG can admit to 62 I'll raise my bid to 72. Or should that be 82? Excuse me a minute while I go back to my spreadsheet - there could be an incorrect @formula somewhere....
