Being a brave Chimaera 500 owner i have strayed over into the Noble world just to ask a few questions. Having briefly looked at a few M12's at Castle Sports cars i would like to know more about the different guises. GTO, R, twin turbo etc.. what are the basic things to look out for when purchasing and how are they to drive around town in?

Cheers guys,

Jon.

P.s if anyone in my area (Ware, Herts) wants to show off I would be a happy passenger!

In a nutshell (there's more of course)

GTO 2.5 :- The original
GTO 3.0 :- Bigger engine
GTO 3R :- Better (prettier)lights, some sound proofing, LSD and 6-speed box as standard
M400 :- Engine worked on the give 425 bhp from 352 bhp (Factory figures...pure Fairy Tale!) and those Marmite side pods. Also better (matter of opinion)seats, all Alcantara instead of leather.

Martin.

I live in Harlow and would be happy to show you what it can do....! But if you decide to get a ride with Mr Adrian W, be aware that you might need a clean pair of undies! laugh

Hey thanks for the offers guys!! My girlfriend has a 250bhp modified Lotus europa with upgraded suspension and semi slicks. Her hobbly is building and driving rally cars! It takes quite a lot to get me in brown trousers mode!!! Bring it on!

Thanks for all the responses. I'm sure This will be my next car.

Have many guys on the forum tweaked their 3R's to M400 performance? The M400 has the same lump as the 3R so is it just a case of upgrading the T25's to T28's or is there a whole host of other mods required to cope with the extra power?
Are there standard increments/stages for modding the 3R?

Thanks guys

Z

Don't know about the UK but in the states reflashing the ECU is definitely the thing to do. A good exhaust and reflash will get you a bit over 400 to the rears on a 3R. Turbos and other goodies can go higher but the $$ ramp accordingly.

The 3R doesn't have a 6 speed box as standard, nor does it have an LSD. They didn't fit those as standard until the end of 2003 IIRC. There are a number of 3Rs with a 5 speed box. Until the 6 speeder became standard, the LSD was always fitted as an option to either box.

Just for consistency wink
