I give up!!
For every X amount of quid I save for a house they go up by 10 times that!!!
It would now cost me in excess of 550quid a month to buy a SMALL one bedroom house!
FK! Thats more expensive than renting!
Hate this fking country but cant afford to move out!
Can you speak French? 15 mins from the Channel coast, 3 bed cottage with 1/4 acre of land and only £33,000

I love it
5 years ago purchase house for 70k
2 months ago neighbour had house valued, same house though mine has much bigger garden. 190k
It seems my house earns more than me
I do feel sorry for any 1st time buyer my brother is in the same position as you GhOst, wants to buy, earns and works hard for a damn good wage (2x mine) but can't even afford a 2 bedroom flat!

Hope it works Umar.
I came down to Devon with an open loan of 6000 to buy a house and im on a decent wage.
Result - could barely afford a crappy studio flat.
That was a year and a half ago.
fk it.
I dunno, I could theoretically afford this place but that would mean no Bike, no ADSL, no phone line, No TV, no NOTHING and live like this for the next 10 years, and to top it off its a mortgage for 35 years !!!!!
Is it worth it for a one bedroom house?????? NO!
I could do without the motorbike in all honesty and the broadband but I need at least a TV!

Why? If you want to upgrade, the gap just gets bigger.
Good only if you can sell up and move abroad where prices are lower. It's screwing the rest of us.
I have a 3 bed semi in a nice part of town, next door to my kiddies school ( a good one) I have no need to upgrade for the next 10 yrs hopefully. By then my mrs will be able to work FT and double our income!
BTW my In Laws live in spain in a 2 bed apartment fully paid for so I am covered in every eventuality
I am one of the lucky ones
I'm in the same boat.
Living with my parents at the moment, but my degree ends in a year, and it'll be time to make my own way in the world.
Not much chance of living here in Shrewsbury anyway.
Whilst house prices are still lower than the south-east, Prices have been going up and up because of the ammount of londoners with considerable sums of money from selling up in london arriving here to be close to the countryside, but still be within easy reach of Birmingham. Telford is the same.
They are just pushing the prices up.
I might be able to afford a garden shed and an alotment somewhere up north for £150,000 by then.
