I took a couple of photos over the weekend of a building site which seemed perfect for the selective colour treatment

LOVE those. They look great
Haven't tried selective colour - how do you do it? is it using PhotoShop? - I'm just starting out with it.

cheers smile

I think they work really well, good black and white too. I take it you did duotone rather than just "convert to greyscale"

Good art work on the pics, but did those chaps know that you were watching them and secretly enjoying it? smile

You're like Bill Oddie, only with workmen wink

Thanks

I did these using Picassa because I couldn't remember how to do it in Photoshop redface

I converted to greyscale, then tweaked them to make the blacks a bit blacker

Arghh, I really hate spot colouring. Really really hate it.

One of those effects that really annoys me.

hehe - let's get some more up then!!!

"Bryce Canyon - Hoodoos as far as the eye can see!"

Here's one I did only ten minutes ago - just before I found this thread.

But Spot/Selective Color is all right - as long as it is in small doses

+1

It's like using one of those really curvy handwriting fonts on webpages etc etc. It shouts 'look how clever I am at using a computer' when all it really says is 'ok, it's not a great picture and I'm desperate to make the pixels worth looking at'. Shame it's used really, as most of the pictures posted here, if they had not been tainted with it, would stand up on their own anyway.

Photoshop effects. The crayons of the photography world...
