Where do you waxoyl

Hi,

I would like to get my car waxoyled (99 Cerb) but have been unable to find a decent TVR garage within 50 miles or so (I am based near Telford) "willing" to do the work.

So my question is,
Where do you have your waxoyl treatment done and how much does it cost?

I know many people do this work themselves but I have no garage and little spare time.

There are lots of places where it is difficult to get the wax into. RT Racing in Sheffield did mine. Wasn't cheap but should last. I appreciate that is probably too far for you to go but I do believe they did a thorough job. This involves clearing off all the loose stuff on the chassis and spraying something into all the areas that are difficult to reach. Basic problem is that the original chassis was not shot blasted prior to powder coating at the factory. Hence we all now have to find the best solution without doing a body off job.

I've just had mine done at PPC at Melton Mowbray (bit a way from you). How much it costs should probably depend on what needs doing to prep the chassis. As I'm cautious I have it done every year and as I do limited milage the prep work was pretty simple and it therefore cost around £97.00 this year. The usual seems to be between £90-£150 for a full waxoyl. It's worth having it done as you can get a proper chassis inspection and it really does protect the chassis.

Just spoken to Sportmotive (recommended by Slacey) and I have booked the car in. Reassuringly they want the car for a few days, I am always wary of the garages that can waxoyl a car in a couple of hours...

TVR Power have an offer on at the mo - I think its £95.00 if its done in conjunction with a service

I can also do it, I don't open until January, and I would again need it for a few days. I also offer a 10% discount to all pistonheaders!, What I would do is first of all clean of all of underneath of car, remove surface rust and treat chemically. Then re-paint the chassis where it has been treated if not all of the underside, and then waxoil the chassis after paint is cured.

I've just got my S back from Perry Mott who has serviced it and fitted the Steve Heath drop-links (I bought two years ago!) for me.

What a service It is now driving absolutely beautifully. Thankfully the weather yesterday was excellent hooning weather, even if every was out on the roads.

For a number of years I have taken my car to the same (well respected) specialist, but have found them less and less interested in recent years and prices have gone through the roof. I am glad I finally decided to take my car elsewhere and save myself about £300 into the bargain

now ready for Zolder, just such a shame it clashes with S club this year as I will very much miss the annual get together.

I asked last year and they don't do waxoyling due to the mess it creates.
I ended up doing it myself over a couple of weeks (full strip, treat, repaint and then waxoyl).
