Well the deed is definately done, off to a Stealer for the princely sum of 24k on Tuesday next week frown There is already a tear in my eye, something no other car has done. Also a tear someone is getting such a bargain but ho humm. I am not actually sure leaving for Oz is such a great idea as i am already homesick for the car, let alone my friends.
If anyone is in Brighton this weekend give the car a wave as its gonna be there fri-monday smile
She has let me down a few times, but all is forgiven on every 10 miles worth of open road.
Cost per mile over 7 months has been about 1 pound fifty (not including fuel or insurance) but nearly worth ever penny.
Wheres the Whisky bottle

massive commiserations mate ! .... what's so special down there that makes such a sacrifice worthwhile ? ...couldn't you ship it , or store it for when you get fed up and come back ?

thats bad mate, cant you leave it with someone you trust to sell on your behalf in slow time?

i would have thought that a private sale would get a few k more and still be classed a good deal

Shipping plus taxes worked out at 13k for another forum member who moved his to Adelaide so that is not an option. I have nobody i trust to try to sell the car, and i need my no claims from here for Australia. Bit of a catch 22 all round. Cant even be arsed to take the plate off.

I would have loved to have given it to someone deserving but afraid only a singe person has been interested in the car since advertising it 2 1/2 months ago, and that was too little too late. She isnt mint or good history bit i am still disappointed. Bad time of year and bad year in general for sports cars tho i suppose. No summer and no feel good factor.

No idea whats so greaty about Oz but i have my Visa and no job in the UK, plus no missus, so its a wasted oppertunity if i dont go smile

I will still be around to annoy people on here and the Aussie section, sure smile
TBH it looks like i will go back to driving a log out there. Nothing will compare to the Noble, especially when the cars out there are so expensive for what you get. Still, might mean i keep a clean license for a few months, having the Noble and the Great Ocean Road would be a recipe for disaster i think smile

Adam

We were both looking for cars at the same time , and your experience has been one of real high's and low's.

I hope you find what you are looking for in Oz, it's an opportunity you've got to try.. nothing ventured ,and all that.

24k from a stealer seems pessimistic, did you try Warren at Dove House ? they always keep a few in stock .

Warren/Dove House said i had pitched it correctly at a punt of 28k for this time of year. As it has not got Noble full history, 33k and Non Noble rebuild done he didnt offer to buy it. Nice chap to have a chat with tho.

All the best to you Adam, emigrating is something my partner and I have talked about numerous times over the years but have never felt we quite have the balls to do it. Good on you.

As far as your car is concerned, 24k must be a real kick in the teeth but a necessary one if you absolutely have to sell - which you clearly do. Shame.

Not worth a final punt on PH for 25k?

Sorry to hear that.

I maybe in the same boat in a couple of years so keep your ears open for any dodgy ways to get the car in cheaper.

As I said before my mate got his elise in for 4k he got someone to de value the car on inspection (friends in the know and all that) then a year later sold it and got his 4k back plus 4k ontop of its value here.

I was in Bali earlier in the year, stayed in the Bali Hyatt (very nice).

Have fun.

My indonesian friend is arranging it but yeah, i bet i will be in Kuta smile If you want to swap numbers that would be cool, and once i know where she has booked up i can let you know.

Dont go telling me in 2 years that you got your Noble into the country for a tuppence hapenny, i will not be impressed mate!!!

Yeah it really is a kick in the teeth about the car, i just wish i had an idea on how to sell in the spring, but i dont frown Bloody exchange rate is poo as well at the moment so i wont actually be sending the car money over until it gets better. That could well be march time anyway smile

it's a thought....

swap italian rubbish for a kit car? like for like then...
actually i'm thinking about Nancy, she had a drive in it a while back at the ace and hasn't stopped talking about it...

been so busy recently it slipped my mind but before i try and work out if it's possible i thought i'd ask if there was any point in me thinking. (as i normally try to avoid it!)

Hi mate. I would love someone to get a bargain rather than the dealer obviously. But its supposed to be going to him on Tuesday and i only have 3 weeks left in the UK, so it looks like the timing is difficult
