Discussion
I have a Caterham Seven and have recently fitted an exhaust which has no silencing and is virtually a pipe coming straight out of the manifold with no cat to go through. Although it is good fun, it is obviously very loud. I am considering doing some trackdays in it but I know many tracks enforce noise restrictions and I am sure my car will exceed them. I am therefore asking if anyone knows of any device e.g. a temporary muffler that I could stuff up the tail pipe, to quieten it down temporarily. Also I’m sure my neighbours will be getting quite annoyed soon!
Thanks for any help in advance,
Geoff

If you look in demon tweeks catalogue (the motorsport edition) they sell exhaust boxes that you can put your own baffles in and it is then up to you when or how quite you want them they come as a kit, otherwise just buy a competition box.I use a pair of 3"exhausts with one silencer on each side and they are ok even though the silencers are straight through they are just quiet enough.
don't go through demon tweeks they have some good stuff, but they're expensive!
check the yellow pages or yell.com, for people who deal in exhaust parts, the will more than likely stock baffles which fit directly inside the pipe (make sure you get the correct size) and you just drill a hole and bolt them in (don't forget the gun gum!).
